Building Maintenance Executive
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Building Management, Facilities Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years of working experience in building maintenance. Experience in Healthcare (Hospitals/Clinics), Hotels, or Laboratory facilities is highly valued
- Strong knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) systems.
- Hands-on ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs independently.
- Familiarity with Malaysian building safety regulations and BOMBA requirements
- Sound knowledge of safety and health, OSHA
- Have a working knowledge of the Hospital's equipment and machines
- Comfortable working around animals (dogs, cats, and exotics) and understanding the need for noise control to avoid stressing patients.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced emergency hospital environment.
- Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia to coordinate with staff and contractors.
- Able to work shifts and must have valid driving license and can be on 24hours call
Job Description
Facility Operations & Maintenance (M&E)
- HVAC & Airflow: Ensure air-conditioning and ventilation systems are functioning optimally at all times (critical for infection control and odor management in wards and boarding areas).
- Electrical Systems: Oversee the maintenance of lighting, power distribution, and backup generators to ensure uninterrupted 24/7 power supply for critical medical equipment.
- Plumbing & Waste: Manage plumbing systems, including drainage for grooming/kennel areas and clinical waste disposal protocols.
- General Repairs: Perform routine handyman tasks (painting, carpentry, door/lock repairs, furniture assembly) to maintain a professional hospital appearance.
- Conduct basic checks and maintenance on facility-dependent medical infrastructure (e.g., examination lights, hydraulic tables, medical gas piping connections).
- Liaise with medical equipment vendors for specialized repairs.
- Fire & Safety: Ensure all fire safety equipment (extinguishers, hose reels, alarms) is compliant with BOMBA regulations and conduct regular safety audits.
- Contractor Supervision: Source, supervise, and evaluate external contractors for major repairs (lifts, pest control, specialized servicing).
- Renovation Projects: Assist management in supervising minor renovation or upgrading works within the hospital or MEDTec Academy.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for facility emergencies (e.g., power outages, pipe bursts) and be available on-call for urgent issues outside standard working hours.
